Paphos International Sailing Club - PISC

P I S C

Paphos International Sailing Club, or PISC, was formed in 1998 by a group of sailing enthusiasts to provide a centre for common interest and mutual assistance. The purpose of the club is to help and encourage all types of sailing or boating activities.   It is not a requirement to own a boat but of course many of our members do own a wide variety of sailing and motor boats. While members are mainly expatriates we do have and welcome Cypriot members.

The Club now boasts a membership of 150 and Members meet every Friday for a light and wet lunch at the Club facility. Visiting yacht crews and sailors from overseas are always welcome and can use the club for the duration of their stay on island. We are fortunate to have space in the Yeroskipou (Geroskipou) boat yard, with its nautical ambiance where we have built a kitchen facility, a separate bar and between the two is a large covered seating area and the club-house is now air-conditioned. Members meet on a Friday (12 - 3pm), the lunch is still light and wet, and we now also meet on Tuesday evenings, when we often have either a seminar, a theme night or a quiz. Sam, our Catering Manager, is a whiz in the kitchen and food is wholesome, home-made and excellent value for money. As are the bar prices. We also have occasional 'posh' nights for special occasions and activities on the water during the season.

As with all boating organisations, members give freely and generously of their time and experience – so if you have an interest then come and join us. We welcome visitors who may attend three of the Friday sessions before being expected to make a decision.

Currently the Committee is:

Commodore - James Heath - e mail jamesATPISC.org.cy
Vice Commodore - Chris Dake
Treasurer - Sue Petre
Hon Sec - Nikki Dake  - e mail nikkiATPISC.org.cy
Membership - Bob & Margaret Morrison Tel: 99 794268

Social - Christina and Rod Chorlton

We look forward to hearing from other clubs with whom we should be pleased
to establish a mutually beneficial relationship.
