USCG stability test results is satisfactory for operation in Ocean
Service with a maximum of 475 long tons of deck cargo may be carried on
board this vessel.

Engines:
Upon completion: Two (2) General Motors Detroit Diesel Division,
Model 16V-149, 16 cylinder diesel engines.
1280 HP each-- Total 2560 HP

General Construction Particulars:


The M/V Doris Candies is undergoing major refurbishment.

The vessel was built of all welded steel construction in Port Arthur,
Texas during 1971.

Approximate dimensions: Length 165’; Breadth 38’; Depth 13’
Registered dimensions: Length 155’; Breadth 38.2’; Depth 12.5’

The vessel has a flush deck, a model bow, transom stern, and a steel
double deck superstructure with quarters built into the hull at the
fo’c’sle deck.
The vessel is an offshore oil industry supply vessel.

The hull is fitted with a rubrail fender below the main deck constructed
of 3/4" steel plate.

Bulwarks are of the open type and extend from the bow to and around the
stern on both port and starboard sides. Bulwarks have a height forward
of 60" and are stiffened with a 3" caprail and are also fitted with
adequate freeing ports.

Handrail around the pilothouse deck are 3-tier and are constructed of
1 1/4" pipe.

Deck fittings consist of:

Four (4) diameter double bits ranged down both port and starboard
sides. A double drum anchor winch is powered by a 20 HP electric motor
and is located forward and set up for 1 1/8" Di-lock anchor chain.

Hull:

Starting at the bow and leading aft hull compartmentation is as follows:

Forward compartment is forepeak ballast.
Second compartment is port and starboard ballast with centerline
passage.
Third compartment is port and starboard ballast with centerline passage.

Fourth compartment is port and starboard inboard ballast with center
passage and port and starboard outboard fuel wing tanks.
Fifth compartment is port and starboard "P" tank void, each with two (2)
500 cubic foot dry mud tanks.
Sixth compartment is machinery space with port and starboard fuel day
tanks and oil storage.
Seventh compartment is port and starboard ballast with center passage.
Eighth compartment is lazarette.
Ninth compartment is port and starboard stern ballast.

The fuel tanks noted above have a total estimated capacity of 30,000
gallons.

Pilothouse Elevation:

The pilothouse was constructed of steel. With the exception of the
console, barber type pilot chair, frame for chart table, settee, and
radio shelf, all interior jointer work and electronic equipment were
removed.


Fo ‘c’sle Elevation:

the accommodations at the fo’c’sle elevation were arranged as follows,
starting forward:

Located on the port side forward is stateroom with a built -in wooden
double bunk, wall mounted desk, and wooden clothes locker.

Located immediately aft and separated by a bulkhead with a tonnage
opening is a stateroom with two (2) double bunks and wooden clothes
locker.

Located on center forward is a washroom with a steel shower stall, wood
vanity, and space for a commode.

Located on starboard side forward is a washroom with a steel shower
stall, wood vanity and space for a commode.

Located on starboard side forward is a stateroom with the remains of a
double wooden bunk.

Immediately aft and separated by a bulkhead with a tonnage opening is a
stateroom with two (2) wooden double bunks and wooden clothes lockers.


Main Deck Elevation:

On centerline forward is a washroom with a steel shower stall, lavatory
built into a wooden vanity and commode.
Located on the port side forward is an elongated bunkroom with four (4)
built-in double wooden bunks, and wooden lockers.

On the starboard side forward is a stateroom with a built-in wooden
double bunk and wooden locker.

Located immediately aft is the mess area which contained three (3)
transverse benches and frames for two (2) mess tables.

Immediately aft is the galley with kitchen type cabinets, stainless
steel commercial galley range manufactured by Food Equipment, model
6436-KIR, double stainless steel sinks, and Kenmore 12 cubic foot
freezer.
Located outside is a doorway to a walk -in 60 cubic foot refrigerator
with a 50 cubic foot freezer.

A stairway leads down from the mess area to the center passage.

Located at the forward end is a Smith 90 gallon electric water heater,
model KEN 57.

At the afterend is the machinery space.
At the afterend of the machinery space is a center passage leading in
the lazarette.

Machinery:

The vessel will be powered by two (2) General Motors, Detroit Diesel
Division, model 16V149 TI diesel engines driving propellers through a
Elsenwerke-Rentjes Marine Gears with 6.0:1 ratio and hydraulic clutch.

The generators will be two (2) diesel generator engines, one (1) will
drive approximately 99 KW, 3-phase, 60 cycle AC generator, one (1) will
drive the existing dry mud air compressor, a Westinghouse 3 cylinder.
(1) 10 HP electric motor driving a Barnes 3" centrifugal fuel pump.
(2) 5 HP electric motors driving a Viking HL 295 pre lube pump.
(1) 7.5 HP electric motor driving dirty oil pump.
(1) 15 hp electric motor driving a Barnes 3" bilge pump.
(1) 20 HP electric motor driving a Goul 3" bilge pump.
(2) 5 HP electric motors driving GET hydraulic pumps.
(1) 3/4 HP electric motor driving freshwater pressure set.
(2) 5 HP electric motors driving Gardner-Denver air compressors.
(1) 3/4 HP electric motor driving raw water pressure set.
(1) Gardner-Denver air receiver.
(2) Steering rams 3" x 24" cylinders.

Condition:

The Vessel was recently dry-docked at Allied Shipyard in LaRose, La,
Hull gauging and underwater painting was conducted.

The vessel is afloat. The vessel has been layed-up for a considerable
length of time. The exterior need sandblasting and recoating. The
interior of the hull was dirty but not seriously wasted.

The vessel is planned to undergo complete major refurbishment. All
interior to be cleaned, quarter to be refurbished, and electronics to be
updated and installed. Main engines are completely rebuilt with "0"
hours. The gears are rebuilt.
