I advise anybody that is thinking of bringing a karaoke business to cyprus that the local operators will not allow it,you will be reported to Immigration as i was and booted off the island losing all your gear in the process.It is not worth the risk,and dont think E>U> because Cyprus is a law unto itself.Its not what you know its who you know.

I am planning to move to Cyprus next April/May 2002 and will be bringing my Karaoke Road Show with me. I have over £15,000 worth of equipment including around 3000 songs, disco type lighting, CDG Players, smoke machines and I am also a semi pro singer and host. I plan to run this as a business in Cyprus more than likely in the Paphos area and am looking for places that maybe interested in a regular karaoke. I don’t know if you offer entertainment is this category. I am considered in the UK to be a good host/singer and very friendly and professional in my show. I have worked overseas before and wish to make Cyprus my future home as I love the culture and the people not to mention the way of life!! I maybe looking for a partner possibly Greek Cypriot and this would make the requirements for a work permit easier however I have other services such as computers that I can work with and obtain a work permit.
